Mission accomplished: Project TABO for Lahaina
Why TABO? During the 1st Hawak Kamay Filipino Resource Fair in Maui in September, there was an activity table to make mini-PAROL with 4 TABO to put some materials. Most of the Lahaina wildfire survivors who passed by the table JUST WANTED the TABO. This is how this project was born.
About 200 TABO were distributed with some goodies in them to Lahaina wildfire survivors.
Maraming salamat to TABO collaborators Pastor Jerry & Stella of Waipio Community Baptist Church who brought most of the tabo & bought additional & stuff to put in the TABO. Special thanks to Pastor Jerry to brought one luggage full of TABO from the Philippines .
To our Maui partners Cornelio & Fanny Ancheta for helping out with prepping
To Ronnie who helped out with distribution & prayers
To Pastor Eric of Lahaina Baptist Church for securing our table and helping with distribution
To Kit for purchasing more TABO (da collapsible kind) & for coordinating this worthy Hawak Kamay Filipino Resource Fair event
To our KaBATAan: Filipino for Kids Hawaii kids, volunteers, & families who decorated most of the TABO & donated some stuff to put in the TABO.
To Emily Em for securing donations of boxes of toothpaste & toothbrush from her dental office Dr. Tanoue & Angel.
We hope that this TABO, this little piece of Filipino household bath/kitchen tool – water scooper/water dipper/water ladle — brought some joy & cheer — to show & spread GOD’s love especially during this CHRISTmas time.
